Man charged with homicide, feticide after car crash involving pregnant woman

WAYNE COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - A man involved in a vehicle crash that killed his pregnant girlfriend is being charged with homicide and feticide after a toxicology report found methamphetamines and marijuana in his system.

The Georigia Bureau of Investigation performed a toxicology assessment of Cody Chisolm after 25-year-old Jessica Sneed and her unborn child were killed when she was hit by a car that Chisholm was driving around 1 a.m. on Monday in November.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says it happened on Oak Street near Dogwood Avenue. They say Chisolm, of Jesup, was driving a Lincoln Navigator in the westbound direction of Oak Street when he hit the pedestrian, identified as Jessica Sneed, also of Jesup.

The sheriff’s office says the driver knew the pedestrian. They say the driver and Sneede lived together near where she was hit. We spoke to the driver on the phone Tuesday. He tells us it was an accident, and he’s heartbroken.

Sneed was taken to the Wayne County Memorial Hospital where she later died.
